89 Days Since Mint

Good morning. It's a big day, part of a big week, smack dab at the butt end of a big Q1 in a year that so far has been... big. Thank God for The Mulligan, because things at LinksDAO keep happening at a rate unlike anything I've ever seen before.

Which brings me to my next question: want to win some free LinksDAO swag from our recently launched LinksDAO Pro Shop?

We're testing a little something-something to scale The Mulligan big time.

If you subscribe to The Mulligan, you'll start receiving a unique referral code in your email each time a new issue is sent. With that code, you'll be able to win free swag like this LinksDAO Hat!

Community Contribution Rewards Passes!

Yes. That's the option 86% of more than 1,000 votes cast landed on when deciding whether or not to push through our seventh proposal, the Community Contribution Rewards proposal. Starting with the rollout of the second version of working pods, up to $71,000 per month will be available to consistent contributors who work side by side with the founding and existing community team to push LinksDAO forward.

This is a critical step for LinksDAO. The long-term success of LinksDAO will undoubtedly require an intentional investment in the people that make up our community. We need to attract and retain talent who can reliably deliver on projects that create value for membership and LinksDAO as a whole.

The approach to this proposal relies on principles that create equitable rewards and are supported by an “upward mobility” process from within the DAO. This is not an insignificant financial commitment, but the Links community strongly believed ensuring people have fair and predictable compensation for meaningful contributions is the right investment moving forward.

Read the entire proposal here!

P.S. Our sixth proposal also passed, almost unanimously, since our last edition of The Mulligan.

On March 15th, the University of Southwest was on their way to Midland, TX for a tournament when the team van collided with a truck, killing six athletes and the coach. The accident also left two teammates in critical condition in a hospital in Lubbock, TX.

Part of our core ethos at LinksDAO is paying it forward. Our rapid growth has allowed us to broaden the reach of both our community and the golf community at large.

Making a donation of $10,000 to the site set up by the university for the victims and their families aligned with the core values of LinksDAO. Thanks to all who participated in the vote.

We send our most heartfelt condolences to everybody involved in this tragic situation.

SXSW Survey Breakdown

Now that the dust has settled from SXSW, it’s time to evaluate how we did. Everyone looked like they were having the time of their life on the LinksDAO Twitter and Instagram, but we decided to make sure by sending out a post SXSW survey! (If you went, and haven’t filled this out yet, make sure you do. That’s how the POAPs will be distributed, and there may or may not be a raffle...)

Here’s a quick breakdown of the results so far [Note: all numerical questions were scored on a Likert Scale from 1-7]:

  • 61% of attendees gave the overall event experience a perfect score (7), and the average was 6.54

  • Top Golf and Fazio Foothills were tied exactly at quality ratings of 6.32 for the attendee’s favorite event.

  • 79% of attendees indicated that the thing they were most excited about was “Meeting with other LinksDAO members”, while 12% indicated that they enjoyed “Gaining utility from [their] NFT” the most.

And here's the "favorite comment by an attendee" spotlight:

Exceeded expectations, absolutely had a blast and really looking forward to more. Golf was great, Austin was a vibe, but the community that showed up was the best part. Just great people.”

After reading all that, it’s hard to imagine all of you not showing up to the next LinksDAO event.

Utility, Utility, Utility

We're making some serious progress on buying a golf course. If you missed our last Spaces, give it a listen! Jim unearthed some juicy details about what him and Bez have been up to the last few months.

TL;DR: Their hours upon hours of discussions with people heavily embedded in the course management industry have centered around financing, building vs. buying, operation, maintenance, architecture, and location... among many other topics.

One of the paths they shed light on revolved around purchasing an existing course with great bones. This is one of the more time-friendly options, as the entire process would ideally be completed by the first half of next year. In this hypothetical scenario, LinksDAO would bring in a world-class architect to give the course a refresh.

Buying a golf course is our North Star, our guiding light. It's important to remember that the journey there is equally critical as the completion of the goal.

That's exactly why we've continued to stack up benefits for our membership. We've noticed that over the past few weeks people have had trouble aggregating what utility has been announced up to this point, so let's recap what's being offered to Global members right now:

  • Five Iron: 20% discounts on rentals, food and beverages, and lessons, one free lesson/year, one month of free membership, 10% off fitting services and 50% off first league team

  • Ship Sticks: 25% discount

  • Arccos: 30% discount

  • LinksDAO Pro Shop: ~35% discounts from partners including Holderness and Bourne

  • LinksDAO Events: first right to purchase tickets for upcoming LinksDAO events (of which there are quiteeeeee a few in the works)

  • DraftKings: Deposit bonus in free bets or casino credits on deposits of $1,000 or more, future access to game tickets and events, referral incentives, and a free-to-play $5,000 Masters pool

  • Supreme Golf: 20,000 points to put towards golf rounds

  • Foray Golf: 20% discount

  • Caddieuniform.com: 20% discount (quite possibly the best Halloween outfit available)

  • Myphoto.com: 25% discount

  • Marc Serota PGA Tour NFT Collection: early access

  • Devereux Threads: 20% discount

  • Minimal Golf: free monogramming
